Another fun and interactive cultural feature is available now at the Jenks Riverwalk. You may have noticed the eight-foot tall “Hesci” sign, located alongside the trail. In the Muscogee language, “Hesci” means “Hello.” Sharing a photo with a friend or family would be like saying, “Greetings from the Riverwalk!”
Did you know the Muscogee Nation has a Muscogee Language Program, offering people the opportunities to learn the Muscogee language?
The College of the Muscogee Nation offers a Native American Studies degree, focusing on Mvskoke language and studies.
There’s even a dictionary on the iTunes store to assist learning the language!
